Description
Once the build and test activities are completed and the deployment schedule is in place, then the successive activities
mentioned in the Release And Deployment Plan must be executed. It includes the Deployment Team’s readiness to receive and
implement the Release Package, conducting trainings, verifying whether the latest changes made on the Configuration Items
are reflecting in the Configuration Management Database and finally verifying the success rate of the release. Early Life
Support (ELS) should be provided post deployment to ensure smooth transitioning of the changed services. All relevant
stakeholders including the Client must be informed on the progress of these activities.
The Release Manager must inform the Problem Manager in case Known Errors are introduced with the release. Known Errors must
be recorded in the IT Service Management tool together with related workarounds. The Release Manager informs the Incident
Manager or Problem Manager in case any outstanding incidents or problems result during the Early Life Support. Any
feedbacks on improvements must be registered, in coordination with the Engagement Manager.
